Victim Resources
The Marshall County Attorney’s Office is responsible for prosecuting crimes committed against victims, such as assault, theft, sexual abuse, and others.
Each criminal prosecution involving a victim is assigned to a prosecuting attorney and a Victim-Witness Coordinator. The Victim-Witness Coordinator can provide services, assist by making referrals for outside services, and is available to answer questions for victims.
Information for victims of Serious Misdemeanor, Aggravated Misdemeanor, or Felony offenses:
- The case will be assigned a Victim Witness Coordinator and a prosecuting attorney
- A victim information packet will be sent in the mail that includes the following forms:
- Victim Registration
- Victim Restitution
- Victim Rights
- Please complete the forms and return them to the Marshall County Attorney’s Office within 10 days
- If you do not receive these documents or misplace them, please contact the Marshall County Attorney’s Office for another copy to be mailed or emailed to you
- Call the Victim Witness Coordinator assigned to your case if:
- You have any questions about the status of the case
- You need help with the Victim Packet forms
- You have a change in address, phone, or email
- You have questions regarding victim restitution
Information for victims of Simple Misdemeanor offenses:
- The case will be assigned a Victim Witness Coordinator and a prosecuting attorney
- A victim information packet will be sent in the mail to obtain victim restitution information
No Contact Orders
- A No Contact Order may be issued in criminal prosecutions involving a victim, such as: Domestic Abuse Assault, Sexual Abuse, Assault, Harassment, and other crimes. If you have a question about a No Contact Order, please contact the Victim-Witness Coordinator assigned to your case.
