Annual Photo Contest Form
Calling all amateur photographers to capture the beauty of Marshall County’s natural resources!
Each year, the MCCB holds an annual natural resource/conservation photo contest. This contest is open to amateur photographers who love to catch nature at its finest. Pictures can be anything from a child catching their first fish, wood duck ducklings emerging from a nest box, or the sun setting over a prairie.
One $25 gift card will be awarded to the winning photo for each category.
Adult Categories
The categories below are for adult photo content.
- Outdoor Recreation
- Scenic (Natural Resources)
- Native Plants
- Native Wildlife
- Open Nature (has to be nature-related but does not have to be taken in Marshall County)
There is a special open class for youth aged 17 or younger.

Photo Contest Rules
- All photos become the property of the MCCB.
- Photos entered this year will not be eligible in subsequent years’ contests.
- MCCB employees and their families are not eligible to enter the contest.
- Each adult photo entered must 1) depict an aspect of Marshall County’s natural resources/conservation except for the open category (for the open category, it still has to be nature-related but does not have to be taken in Marshall County) and 2) fit into one of the theme categories.
- Each youth photo entered must 1) depict an aspect of Marshall County’s natural resources/conservation and 2) fit into any of the adult theme categories.
- A $25 gift certificate will be awarded to the winning photo for each category.
- Photos that are graphic, inappropriate, or not fitting into a category will be disqualified at the discretion of the MCCB staff.
All entries must be emailed to mccb@marshallcountyia.gov, titled Photo Contest by Sunday, January 31 at midnight.
