Registration Renewals

There are several ways to renew your vehicle's registration.

Online

  • When renewing a vehicle registration online, a PIN is required to complete your transaction. The PIN can be found on the renewal notice that was sent to you through the U.S. Postal Service.
  • If your renewal notice has a "stop" sign on it, the vehicle registration does not qualify for online renewal.
  • Half year renewals and apportioned vehicles are not eligible for online renewal.

In addition to cash or checks, credit and debit cards are accepted for an additional fee. There is a drop box for payments in the horseshoe on the south side of the courthouse.

By Mail

  • If you choose to mail your payment, make sure that you have the proper U.S. Postal Service postmark date.
  • Include the bottom portion of our renewal notice.
  • Make checks payable to Marshall County Treasurer.

When paying by mail, always use a check.

A Fee of $30.00 will be charged for all dishonored checks, drafts or orders as prescribed in Iowa Code 554.3512.
